Long story short: my name is Natalie Wilkinson, the old lady that started the Young Author Project, and author #9 on The Art of Giving A Crap. I’m a licensed middle school instructor (6-8th grade English Language Arts and Spanish) and published children’s book author with a heart and soul for Jesus. School Boost Online is my company, which focuses on tutoring and educational resources. I taught English Language Arts in public school for 5 years (yep, I was a first-year during COVID – fun, fun, fun). During my teaching years, I noticed that a lot of kids have amazing talents that fall through the cracks and never get used in school. There are kids that can draw, paint, sculpt, work well with technology, do voices, and write exceptionally well; in a world of standardized testing, these gifts don’t really matter, and that really bothers me to this day. School Boost Online became a way for me to be able to facilitate projects like The Art of Giving A Crap, which I am thrilled and honored to do. I’d love to continue doing so as long as the Lord allows.
Students love to work with me because I love to work with them – I always strive to create an atmosphere of joy, creativity, and excellence. I wish I’d had something like the Young Author Project when I was growing up, and it’s my privilege to serve in this way.

In my spare time, I like to stare at sunlight streaming in through windows. It makes me think of God.
